USS Clifton
The USS Clifton was a converted ferry purchased by the Navy on 2 December 1861. She was assigned to the Mortar Flotilla of the West Gulf Blockading Squadron on 18 March 1862. She participated in the Battles of Fort Jackson and St. Phillip, the siege of Vicksburg and the short-lived capture of Galveston.
The Clifton was captured by Confederate forces along with the USS Sachem at Sabine Pass, TX on 8 September 1863.
