USS Relief
The USS Relief was constructed at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and launched 14 September 1836. During the Civil War, she was the store ship for the West Gulf Blockading Squadron, primarily stationed at Ship Island from July 1862 to late autumn of 1863 when she was sent north after a yellow fever outbreak.
