USS Marion
The USS Marion was a sloop that was built by the Charlestown Navy Yard and launched 24 April 1839. At the outbreak of the Civil War, she was in ordinary at Portsmouth and recommissioned 21 June 1861. She was assigned to the Gulf Blockading Squadron in September 1861 and remained on station until ordered north May 1862.
