USS Kennebec
The USS Kennebec was a Unadilla-class "90 day" gunboat that was launched 5 October 1861 and commissioned 8 February 1862, Lt. John H. Russell commanding.
She was attached to the West Gulf Squadron soon after and participated in the Battle of Forts Jackson and St. Philip, Siege of Vicksburg and the Battle of Mobile Bay. After the latter action, she spent the rest of the war on the Texas blockade.
