USS Ida
The USS Ida was a steamer first chartered and later purchased by the Navy on 6 March 1863 in New Orleans for use as a tugboat.
She was initially assigned as a tug on the Mississippi River below Port Hudson, but was moved to Mobile Bay, arriving on station on 1 February 1865.
While assisting in clearing Mobile Bay of mines on 13 April 1865, the Ida struck one and sank in the channel. The Navy later sold the wreck of the Ida for salvage on 11 September 1865.
