USS Gertrude
The USS Gertrude was a prize captured by the USS Vanderbilt off the Bahamas on 16 April 1863, purchased by the Navy from the prize court on 4 June 1863 and commissioned 22 July 1863 with Acting Master Walter K. Cressy commanding.
She was assigned to the West Gulf Blockading Squadron, arriving on station August 1863 and remained in the AOR until August 1865 when she was decommissioned and eventually sold.
