G. D. Andrews

G. D. Andrews, First Class boy, is listed in Officers and Enlisted Men who Died in the Active Service of the U.S. Navy 1776-1885 and in the Althea's CO's official report has having died when the Althea struck a mine and sank on the Blakely River on 12 April 1865.

The Althea's second quarter muster log for 1865 appears to have been lost when she went down so no further information can be located on Andrews asides from the fact that he was a black sailor.
